After some lengthy delays, Worksafe has shared with Recreation Aotearoa a Recreational Access Policy Clarification that outlines WorkSafe's guidance around recreational access and the HSW Act. This is a result of Advocacy carried out by Recreation Aotearoa and NZAC over several years. The draft is as good as we could expect, and Recreation Aotearoa has only offered minor feedback. We look forward to working with WorkSafe and other stakeholders to promulgate the final documents. Watch this space for a document that will help to allay concerns of land managers who control access for recreation.
