CLM is looking for a motivated, professional individual whom is keen to lead and drive the aquatics teams to deliver exceptional safety standards for all patrons.

The role reports to the Facility Manager and will have both Supervisors and Lifeguards as direct reports. Therefore, experience in effectively motivating and engaging a team of staff is required. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The role is full time and is based around the opening hours of the facility, and therefore the role may require you to work early morning, late shifts and weekend work. We have a unique opportunity for a Turf Manager to join our Parks and Maintenance contract team based in Masterton. This role will suit a Groundsman who is passionate about cricket and turf maintenance and wanting to take the next in their career.

About the role

This is a hands-on role, which reports to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the highest standards of playing surfaces and their surroundings to meet contract specifications. You will work closely with clients and key stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes on the ground. A mechanical aptitude in the use of tractors and turf related equipment and the ability to be flexible in your availability, especially during the cricket season is also required. Where necessary, you will undertake other duties to support the wider Masterton team.

What the job involves

Working in our purpose built facility, you will lead the team who keep our aquatic customers safe. Reporting to the Sports Facility Manager you will be responsible for the recruitment, training, rostering, and Health and Safety of the Lifeguard team and aquatics area of the facility. You will be part of the Facility Management group and as such you will have input into programmes and initiatives to increase the usage of you area and the facility as a whole. The hours for this role are Sunday to Thursday 9.30 am to 6.00 pm.
