The Botanic Gardens is the heart of Christchurch's reputation as the Garden City. It holds an impressive collection of plants and provides a tranquil oasis for both tourists and its inhabitants.

As a Parks Maintenance Officer you'll ensure that the Botanic Gardens, conservatories and associated assets are presented and maintained in a manner that enhances its esteemed reputation.

Primarily based within the Botanic Gardens team, you'll work alongside the Collection Curators helping with the day to day horticultural needs and assisting with collection development. However, as a team player and someone who is flexible and adaptable, you'll also assist other Parks Services and Operations team members as required and participate in rotation amongst parks activities as required to address demand in area workloads.

Hamilton is known for its natural environment, with street and park trees an important feature of the city-scape. Our City Parks team are responsible for the physical work on those trees, and we are looking for a keen person to join our crew.

In this role you will learn how to maintain established trees across the city. We're after a committed and enthusiastic person willing to learn and become a qualified arborist.

Our unit is a tight-knit team and we are looking for someone who works well alongside others. You will also need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Based at Clive Pool, this is a hands on role that will include the day to day management and operation of Clive Pool, and overall responsibility for the outdoor Havelock North Village Pool during summer. Key focus areas for development are: Aquafit, Learn to Swim, and recreational swimming - this is the opportunity for your strong leadership, cultural intelligence, experience in growing a business and excellent customer service can shine.
