Today, the Waipā district has 138 parks, 26 playgrounds, 242 hectares of sports fields, and 10 public cemeteries. That's about 320 hectares of recreation land available for public use which we want to keep in pristine shape for both locals and visitors to enjoy. The Waipa district is recognised as a key location for future development, growth and investment, being categorised as one of the high growth regions in New Zealand. As you can imagine, that means we are going to be having yet more parks, playgrounds, cycle ways and shared pathways to maintain.

New Plymouth District Council - Landscape Architect

Are you a creative, strategic thinker who is keen for an opportunity to make a difference in our district? We are looking for a Landscape Architect to join our District Planning team on a full-time, fixed-term (12 month) basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Landscape Architect/Urban Design tertiary qualification so that you are equipped to undertake and integrate planning and design for Council's existing and future infrastructure, focusing on our parks and open spaces. Relationship management and interpersonal skills are a must as you will be responsible for undertaking stakeholder engagement. The ability to influence and explain policy and procedure are critical so that you can successfully provide design input, advice and recommendations into the consent processes and on projects.

Kapiti Coast District Council - Coastlands Aquatic Centre and Waikanae Pool Operations Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced 'hands on' leader to provide daily management of our Lifeguard team and plant operations that service the Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Waikanae Summer Pool and Raumati Splash Pad.

Invercargill City Council - Senior Arborist

Full-time permanent position

Our city has one big backyard and you will help keep it beautiful as part of our team of arborists.

As the Senior Arborist you'll will be responsible for the day-to day delivery of our request for service programme and provide training and support on correct arboricultural techniques and practices to the arborist team. You'll also be actively involved in performing a variety of tree maintenance, including removal and thinning work in and around Invercargill.
