Mower Operator - Hamilton City Council

About the role
We are looking to add to our exciting mowing team based in Hamilton to work in our Parks and Recreation team. As a team member you will be responsible for completing general mowing activities maintaining the city’s sports turf.

The hours of work are 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and the recruitment wage is from $23.65 per hour and could be negotiated for the right candidate.

What a day might look like

  • Undertake scheduled mowing and maintenance of turf areas in Hamilton Parks
  • Ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Ensure plant, equipment and resources are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
Skills and Experience
  • Background in parks maintenance
  • Good understanding of mowing operations within a commercial setting
  • Safe and effective operation of all tools of the trade associated with the industry
  • Current clean NZ Drivers Licence

About the company

This role sits in the Council’s Community Group, which comprises of community focussed services such as Hamilton Pool, Parks and Recreation, Hamilton City Libraries and the city’s three main visitor attractions.

The Parks and Recreation team assist with the maintenance and development of Hamilton sports grounds to provide a high standard of sports facilities for our city. As a city we maintain around 91 natural playing surfaces including several high-grade sand-based grounds.

Our work ensures Hamilton is beautiful, fun, connected, and meets our community wants and needs, making our city one we’re all proud of.
