We are excited to unveil our enhanced ARPro accreditation programme, which comes into effect today.

Since 2018, Recreation Aotearoa has been managing He Puna Korikori – the Outdoor Activity fund – on behalf of Sport NZ. The fund was set up to increase the engagement of underrepresented populations in outdoor recreation and activities. He Puna Korikori was a fixed-term initiative, and this round is the final year of funding.

A record crowd attended the annual Recreation Aotearoa Parks Awards, held in Ōtautahi Christchurch last night. These awards are an opportunity to recognise the people, places and spaces within the New Zealand Parks, Play and Open Spaces industry.

Recreation Aotearoa has made, and continues to make, written submissions to dozens of Council Long Term Plans (LTPs), with comprehensive submissions made to the largest Councils.

Over the next 12 months the Recreation Aotearoa Board, supported by our Māori Navigation Group Te Kāhui Kura Māori will be undertaking a review of the Recreation Aotearoa Constitution to consider what changes might be required to further enact the organisation’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

On Thursday 2 November, Recreation Aotearoa Te Whai Oranga celebrated some of the best and brightest in the New Zealand recreation industry with the 2023 Recreation Awards.
