Meagan leads marketing and communications for Recreation Aotearoa. After training and working as a journalist for several years, she moved to Aotearoa from Canada in 2011 – just in time for the Rugby World Cup – and shifted into communications and marketing. Since then, her professional career has run alongside a growing involvement in the recreation sector.

For more than a decade, Meagan has channelled her love of mountain biking into getting more women and girls on bikes, both as President of women’s cycling club Revolve Cycling and as a youth mountain bike coach with WORD, where she particularly enjoys helping teenage girls build their skills, confidence and love of riding. She also serves on the Board of the Backcountry Trust and has a long history of involvement in trails advocacy and cycling organisations.

Outside work, she can usually be found mountain biking, tramping or playing volleyball, and enjoys sharing her love of recreation and the outdoors with her husband and young daughter.
