Strategic partnership with Skills Active Te Mahi Ako renewed
Recreation Aotearoa is pleased to announce the renewal of its strategic partnership with Skills Active Te Mahi Ako for a further two years.
One of our longest-standing partners, Skills Active Te Mahi Ako has been a Strategic Partner since 2010. This renewed agreement continues a strong, long-term relationship focused on workforce development and workplace learning across New Zealand’s recreation sector.
The partnership supports nationally recognised training and qualifications, including lifeguard pathways such as the New Zealand Certificate in Aquatics (Level 3), the New Zealand Apprenticeship in Aquatics (Level 4), and the Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate. It also reflects a shared commitment to advocacy and ensuring the needs of the recreation sector are understood and supported by government.
Sarah Murray, Chief Executive of Recreation Aotearoa, said strategic partnerships play a key role in building a capable and connected workforce.
“Skills Active Te Mahi Ako plays a vital role in supporting workforce development across our sector. Together, we are strengthening pathways into recreation careers, supporting lifelong learning, and ensuring our workforce is skilled, confident, and ready to meet the needs of our communities.”
Todd Maddock, Chief Operating Officer of Skills Active Te Mahi Ako, said the organisation is proud to continue the partnership.
“Skills Active Te Mahi Ako is proud to renew our longstanding partnership with Recreation Aotearoa. We look forward to continuing this important mahi to strengthen and support the sector.”
