The Community Parks team has an exciting future ahead as we continue to deliver parks maintenance to over 1000 parks across the city.
About the role - Ko te mahi nei
As the Team Leader - you will lead a team to ensure that the parks, gardens and associated assets of our Community Parks are presented and maintained in a manner that enhances Christchurch City's image as New Zealand's "Garden City".
You'll be responsible for all aspects of parks maintenance relevant to your area, to ensure cost-effectiveness and agreed service levels are met. Pivotal to achieving success will be your relationship building skills with members of the individual communities, as well as local elected members and interest groups. You'll foster and enhance these relationships to ensure meaningful and effective service delivery.
We want you to showcase your leadership capability, and to motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently excellent service along with the ability to build and maintain relationships not only with your peers within the Parks unit, but across diverse groups which will come naturally to you.
You'll ideally come from a background in Parks management and demonstrate experience in a leadership role where managing competing demands are the norm.

- Hours of work - 40 hours a week
- Position - Permanent, full-time
- Location - This position is primarily based at our Wigram and Bromley depots
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 to $107,183 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles
