The Christchurch City Council Parks team is growing in a new and exciting direction. We want you to be part of our dedicated team.

Our goal is to lift and enhance the quality of these beautiful areas. You'll combine your mowing, spraying and horticultural experience that will deliver a high-quality finish to the parks and cemeteries throughout our city.
Working in these spaces you will be exposed to a wide range of people, cultures and beliefs that are represented within Christchurch. An openminded, respectful outlook will be key.
About the role - Ko te mahi nei
As a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer, you'll be delivering a wide range of maintenance, upkeep, and improvement to Christchurch City's parks and cemeteries.
Your duties will include:
- mowing (hand and ride on)
- line trimming
- spraying, weeding, pruning and planting
- rubbish collection
- cleaning BBQs and water fountains.
About you - Ko Koe Tenei:
- You'll be a committed team player who is always looking for ways to learn, grow and improve
- You will be ensuring all aspects of our parks such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to the highest standard
- You will have a full driver's licence, Level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in a similar role
- A Grow Safe qualification, class two truck licence and W endorsement would be highly desirable but not essential. CCC will help you gain these qualifications if you do not have them.

- Hours of work - 7.30am - 3.30pm, Monday - Friday. There is also a requirement to work weekend and public holidays on a rostered basis.
- Position - Permanent, full-time.
- Location - This position is primarily based alone of our depots based in Wigram or Bromley.
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $65,502 to $72,780 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
