Operations Manager

About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring Stadium 2000 is a safe, well-maintained, welcoming and high-performing facility for all users. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing day-to-day operations, facility assets, maintenance, cleaning, events, operational technology and compliance.
You will lead and support Aquatic, Events, Maintenance, Cleaning and Operations teams or approx. , while working closely with tenants, contractors, user groups, the GM and the Trust Board.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall facility operations, safety, presentation and customer experience
- Asset management planning, maintenance programmes and capital project delivery
- Leadership of health & safety systems, PoolSafe and IQP compliance
- Oversight of operational IT systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, pool plant systems)
- Acting as the organisation’s Health & Safety Officer and Privacy Officer
- Budget development and cost-effective facilities management
- Leadership, recruitment, rostering, training and performance of operational teams
- Supporting events, hires, tenants and user group relationships
- Acting as Duty Manager and providing senior operational cover as required
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in operations or facilities management
- Strong people leadership and staff development skills
- Sound knowledge of health & safety systems and compliance
- Experience managing budgets, contractors and asset maintenance
- Strong IT and systems capability, with a practical, problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- High integrity, discretion and professionalism
Experience in aquatic, recreation, events or community facilities will be highly regarded.
