The National Pool Lifeguard Competition brings together lifeguard teams from across Aotearoa to test their skills, teamwork, and professionalism.
This annual event celebrates excellence in lifeguarding and helps lift industry standards through shared learning and real-world practice.
Teams of four will compete in a series of practical challenges that reflect the demands of modern aquatic environments.
These include:
• lifeguard knowledge
• first aid and CPR
• emergency response scenarios and rescue skills
• teamwork and communication
• customer interactions
• problem-solving and creative thinking.
Each challenge is designed to build confidence, strengthen capability, and showcase the essential role lifeguards play in keeping our communities safe in and around the water.
The winning team of the National Pool Lifeguard Competition will be announced at the Aquatics Awards.
