The Aquatics Operations Coordinator is responsible for leading the day-to-day aquatic operations of the facility, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, water quality, supervision, and operational excellence are achieved.

The role provides leadership and support to Duty Managers, Lifeguards, and aquatic staff while maintaining compliance with industry standards, contractual obligations, and Belgravia Leisure policies. The position plays a key role in promoting a safe, welcoming, and professionally managed aquatic environment for all guests and staff. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Aquatic Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure aquatic supervision systems remain effective and compliant.
  • Maintain and review supervision plans, risk assessments, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate the Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment (PoolSafe) process.
  • Monitor compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Investigate aquatic incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is maintained, tested, and available at all times.
  • Support emergency management planning and preparedness.

Water Quality Management

  • Oversee pool water testing programs and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor pool chemistry results and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
  • Ensure plant room operations are maintained in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs for aquatic plant and equipment.

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Duty Managers and Lifeguards.
  • Deliver ongoing in-service training and competency assessments.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, onboarding, and staff development.
  • Promote a positive and accountable team culture.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and roster coverage are maintained.

Facility Operations

  • Maintain a high standard of presentation, cleanliness, and operational readiness across the facility.
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers regarding repairs and maintenance.
  • Support venue opening, closing, and operational procedures.

Health, Safety & Risk Management

  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, risks, audits, and operational compliance.
  • Ensure all staff understand and fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve operational performance.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service standards.
  • Support the resolution of customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
  • Foster a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the community.
  • Promote inclusion and accessibility across all aquatic services.

Business Performance

  • Assist with operational budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Support achievement of contract deliverables and venue KPIs.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
