International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy submission
Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) sought feedback on its review of the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL).
Recreation Aotearoa has had a long-standing interest and position on what has become the IVL, dating back to 2016 and the ‘tourism-tsunami’ as it was known.
The impacts of International Visitors are often keenly felt in the sparsely populated regions of New Zealand, which have few ratepayers to mitigate the impacts, and also on Public Conservation Land.
