Ministry of Health Directive Regard Burial and Cremations

The Ministry of Health has advised us of some changes that will affect the operations of cemeteries and crematoriums. We understand that these changes are a direct result of pressure from members of the public, which was expected.

In relation to Cemeteries and Crematoriums the Ministry of Health's NEW Directive is as follows:

"Only one family bubble may be in attendance at the cemetery or crematorium when the casket is delivered for burial or cremation. This may only occur if the local authority permits families to be present."

Active Response Webinar: Working from home

Up-skill using on-line technology and protocols

Recreation at Level 4 Webinar

The Mountain Safety Council have put together a useful resource on what Alert Level 4 means for your outdoor recreation plans. We will be sharing more information on this topic shortly, as we know that it is a big question for a lot of you.

We're heading into Alert Level 4 and there has been some questions around what exactly an Essential Business is. The Government has a great resource with all of the necessary information. You can bookmark this site to keep up to date with announcements and news.

New Zealand to go into lockdown

New Zealand's Covid-19 alert level has risen to three and the country will go into a full lockdown in 48 hours, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed.

After 48 hours, the time required to ensure essential services are in place, and the country will move to level four and will remain at that level for four weeks, Ardern said.

Outdoor Educations & School Camps COVID-19 Advice

Outdoor providers and schools are monitoring daily updates to advice and conditions. At this time of unrest, we want to extend our allegiance to all our communities.

We reach out to Auckland region as local council announce the two week closure of their facilities. Let's look to the outdoors and keep our health balanced.

Recreation Aotearoa members including those working with school and community groups want to highlight our openness to working with groups to deliver the educational outcomes through many different models such as smaller groups, delivery at schools or locations of their choice.

NZ Cemeteries & Crematoria Conference Resheduled to 2021

Due to the increasing global risk of COVID 19, we have made the decision to reschedule the 2020 Green Pavlova Conference to May 2021.

We have come to this decision following the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO). While it is a difficult decision to make, at this stage our priority is to ensure the safety of all delegates, contributors and the general New Zealand public.

We have informed all delegates of this decision and will be working with our contributors and partners to investigate new dates for the May 2021 conference.

Green Pavlova 2020 Rescheduled to 2021
