Michele Frey

Michele’s career in recreation began over 20 years ago. Whilst studying at Lincoln University, she also worked as a park ranger’s assistant. Since then, she has gained industry experience in both the private and local government sectors. 

Today, Michele is the Director for Liveable Communities at Gisborne District Council. She has been on the Recreation Aotearoa Board for over six years. Prior to this, she chaired the Generate Network from 2011-2014. Through her involvement with Generate, Michele played a leading role in building links between young recreation professionals and the boarder recreation industry.

An active member of Recreation Aotearoa, Michele is excited about the future reflected through Te Whai Oranga, what lies ahead for the recreation industry, and our future generations.
