Sector & Industry Engagement - Regional Forums

Regional Forums have taken place in Auckland and Cambridge over the last couple of months. Attendance has ranged from leading local employers to budding students.

Our partners Skills Active and us are gaining local intel and regional pictures to feed into Workforce Strategy Development. We look forward to building on this over coming year in consultation with the Outdoors Workforce Industry Advisory Group (IAG).

Both EONZ and Worksafe are also gaining good feedback and support for their continued work. For example, EONZ are hoping to be able to deliver Provider Workshops in the coming year to help Providers work better with schools in delivering their EOTC and Outdoor Ed programmes. If you would like more information on this, please email outdoors@nzrecreation.org.nz with name and contact details. Please also describe the type of work with schools you are doing.

Our next meeting is Tongariro November 6th. Please email fiona@nzrecreation.org.nz for full agenda and to confirm your attendance. For Thames / Coromandel November 20th, please email karl@nzrecreation.org.nz

Tongariro forum is taking great shape with attendance from many of our partners and local operators and concessionaires. A local topic here is around safety and quality interaction with the Tongariro Crossing from transport to guiding to public messaging.

Thames / Coromandel will have an Economic Development focus plus similar items to above mentioned topics. An outcome set for this meeting is for participants to share aspirations, progress, challenges and needs which is matched with information, resources, experts and other likeminded people in the Coromandel Region.

We hope to see you there and receive your solutions focused engagement.
