Fiona Ryder has joined to the NZRA team to help with outdoor sector related projects.

Fiona Ryder hails from Galway, Ireland and has found her place as a sailor in the Auckland Hauraki Gulf. A trained Physical Education teacher with mathematics as a second subject, Fiona only spent a short few years in the gym side of education before following her passion for the outdoors.

Since arriving in NZ in 2006, she has worked for both Youthtown and Bigfoot Adventures involved with programme management and Health and Safety. Fiona is based in Auckland.

Having her on board gives NZRA Outdoors a much stronger and much needed presence in the north and it increases our networking and information gathering capacity significantly. Fiona will take on the coordination of the NZRA Outdoors Forum and Regional Networking events as well as Workforce strategy and other projects. Sam Newton remains focused on advocacy and Rob will continue to work on the Good Practice Guidelines and the Targeted Outdoor Activity fund.
