By way of the Auckland Council LTP consultation process and other means, NZRA has been advocating for the recreational displacement caused by the closure of the Waitakare Ranges, Hunua Ranges and various DoC walking tracks. We note that DoC are considering even further track closures.
Following our successful Hui in Auckland earlier this year, NZRA intends to host another meeting in Auckland for the recreation community to consider how Auckland Council and DoC can best cater to the recreational displacement that has arisen form the track closures. Keep an eye out for details.
