Rototuna Village – Pool operator tender

This is advance notice that Hamilton City Council will be undertaking a tender for a pool investor/operator, as part of the overall civic and private development of the Rototuna Village area in the rapidly growing area of north-east Hamilton.

Hamilton City Council has previously budgeted just under $20 million for the development of the Rototuna community hub and library, Village square, active play, landscaping and car parking, with a 2200m2 area of land also earmarked for an indoor swimming pool and associated facilities. Please see www.hamilton.govt.nz/rototuna for further information on the Rototuna Village development.

The tender will invite suitably qualified operators to propose solutions to purchase or lease land, fund, build and operate a swimming pool and associated leisure and commercial facilities in Rototuna. The primary goal of this tender is to establish at least an indoor 25m x 6 lane swimming pool to cater for year-round aquatic education for children, families and schools, and to also provide lap swimming.

Additional aquatic and leisure facilities may also be provided based on the tenderer's business plan.

The tender is currently scheduled to open in early September and close in mid-October 2019. They are seeking to provide potentially interested parties with as much advance notice as possible to consider and prepare for this tender, so if your organisation wishes to consider please register your early interest by contacting Natasha.ryan@hcc.govt.nz.
