Senior Tracks and Coastal Ranger / Kaitiaki Ara me te Takutai Matua

You will be leading the team that maintains our walkways, tracks, mountain bike trails, this includes vegetation control and maintenance of structures, e.g. timber steps, hand rails, drainage channels and track surface. This role will have you working throughout the city's open spaces, ornamental parks and bush reserves.

You will be responsible for:

•overseeing and maintaining Porirua City Council's walkways, tracks and mountain bike trails to a high maintenance standard

•managing the varying requirements of a designated maintenance run

•day to day leadership of a small team.

It would be fabulous if you are self-motivated individual who has a passion for the outdoors.

You'll need to show us that you have:

•small plant experience - e.g. weed eater, power barrow, petrol hedger, chainsaw

•experience and endorsements for tracks and wheels

•a clean Class 2 driver's licence

•current Growsafe qualification

•knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to the job.
