Sport Waikato is seeking an active and inspiring individual to connect schools within Te Pae Here (North East Hamilton) Kaahui Ako to their communities as part of an exciting new initiative in the Waikato known as Taakaro-ora - Active Wellbeing.

Taakaro-ora - Active Wellbeing aims to build a sustainable system where children and young people will have quality, fun, challenging and inspiring physical activity, sport and Health and Physical Education experiences that support them to be active, engaged, learning and succeeding.

Based in Hamilton, the Community Connector will be part of a small and dedicated team who will work to support and leverage our already successful Sport Waikato programmes such as Project Energize.

The key purpose of this role is to better connect schools with their communities and acknowledge the equal importance the four dimensions of Mason Durie's Te Whare Tapa Wha model hold on the ability to enhance the wellbeing/hauora of students and their communities.

The successful applicant will have a passion for community development and a strong focus on enhancing wellbeing through the four dimensions of Te Whare Tapa Wha model. They will be proficient at engaging with a range of stakeholders, whether it be sport, education or the wider community.

We are looking for someone who can grasp the big picture and identify opportunities for successful partnerships across different settings including schools, clubs, the community and homes.
