Get Outdoors Week

Get Outdoors Week is a national campaign that encourages Kiwis to get out and explore the great outdoors, safely. It's the perfect opportunity to take the family on a local adventure and explore the natural wonders that Aotearoa has to offer.

There's no limit on how you can get involved, whether it's a short bush walk with the kids, a swim in the ocean or a challenging backcountry adventure!

Check out the Get Outdoors Week website where you can find all the information on how to get involved and follow Get Outdoors week Facebook and Instagram pages.

There are heaps of opportunities for you to take part.

  • By simply getting outdoors and sharing your adventure on social media you'll be part of the action.
  • Share your adventures on social media using #GOWeekNZ - you could win spot prizes!
  • Take part in an organised Get Outdoors Week or partner event
  • Host a Get Outdoors Week event
  • And heaps more - follow the action online to stay up to date as more opportunities are added

Get Involved: Outdoor Recreation

Get Outdoors Week is an incredible opportunity for outdoor recreation providers to promote their business and get heaps of free advertising through the Get Outdoors Week website and social media pages.

You can add events that you have already planned, offer discounts to customers during Get Outdoors Week or come up with something brand new to showcase your business and celebrate Get Outdoors Week.

Get Involved: Aquatics

Get Outdoors Week takes place in mid-November, just as many of our outdoor pools are opening for the summer!

Get involved by hosting a Get Outdoors Week event at your outdoor facility and encouraging customers to share their adventures on social media using #GOWeekNZ

Get Involved: Parks & Open Spaces

There are so many ways that parks and open spaces can take part in Get Outdoors Week! We want to show New Zealand that getting outdoors can be as simple as meeting friends and whānau at your local park or taking the kids for a bike ride.

Similar to Parks Week events, you could host outdoor yoga sessions, live music or nature days for the little ones. Get involved by hosting a Get Outdoors Week event at your park or open space and encouraging attendees to share their adventures on social media using #GOWeekNZ

Get Involved: Community Recreation

Getting your local community involved in recreation is something you are fantastic at, and taking part in Get Outdoors Week gives you the opportunity to advertise any events that are already taking place.

Get involved by hosting a Get Outdoors Week event in your local community and encourage everyone to share their adventures on social media using #GOWeekNZ
