The New Zealand Infrastructure Commission has developed a 30-year Infrastructure Strategy, Infrastructure for a Better Future. The document was open to public consultation.

Recreation Aotearoa made a written submission, advancing the following perspectives:

1. Support for its focus on the wellbeing of New Zealanders:
2. greater reference and regard to the Wellbeing Framework;
3. that physical and mental wellbeing should be added to the proposed decision-making principles; and
4. an improved definition and greater regard for what the document calls ‘social infrastructure.
