New Zealand Parks Awards

The New Zealand Parks Awards recognise excellence, innovation, effectiveness and outstanding spaces and places that support activity within the recreation sector.

The 2020 New Zealand Parks Award nominations are now open! The awards will be presented on Wednesday 6 May during an Awards Dinner at Te Puia as part of the Green Pavlova Conference, being held in Rotorua from 4 - 7 May 2020.

Award Categories

  • Healthy Park Award - Urban parks, town squares, community hubs, regional, local and forestry parks
  • Active Park/Sports Ground Award - Active adventure park and/or sports park
  • Playground Award - Any playground type
  • Parks Professional of the Year - Works in a professional capacity in parks or open spaces
To nominate your park and/or parks professional please download the below information pack - nominations close 4pm, Friday 27 March.
