Auckland/Northland Scholarships

The number one awaited scholarship is open! That's right, applications for the Auckland/Northland Scholarship are now open for new recreational professionals.

This scholarship is aimed at supporting emerging recreation professionals in their first or second year of study in the leisure, recreation or parks sectors. It is like winning lotto but more awesome because the successful applicant also gets to be part of the regional committee and directly contribute to shaping the local industry.

Applications close 30 March 2012. So for all the information, conditions and application process please download the application form or contact northern@nzrecreation.org.nz.

Events

There is always a lot going on the industry in these parts and to make sure everyone can stay current the region puts on a number of events each year. They are informative, awesome and budget friendly.

It is the rugby world cup and we figure there are enough events going on at the moment without us, so subject to a pre Christmas hurrah our 2011 events programme has concluded.

The last event, 'Planning for emerging recreation professionals' was awesome and if you missed it don't worry it will be back along with millions of others (almost) in 2012. To those that supported the 2011 event programme - give yourself some big ups. Our recreation community is what we all make it. Now stop reading and get out there and amongst it.
