Coastal Recreation Conference
2-3 April 2012 Important UpdateDue to low registration numbers, NZRA has had to unfortunately postpone this event for the time being. However, we believe that the issue of coastal recreation is an important one to address and we therefore plan to hold the conference at a later date. Watch this space for updates about what promises to be an informative seminar addressing issues related to recreation on our beaches and coastlines - planning, conservation, policy development, coastal mapping, surfing reserves and more. A Coastal Recreation Conference? What, Why & WhoBeaches and coastlines are intrinsic to New Zealanders and their recreation values. Provision and management of the coastal recreation settings is; however, often a grey area. At this ground breaking event, presentations from world experts and case study exponents will guarantee that you leave armed with the essential facts ensuring that you are inclusive and well researched in what you do. The programme addresses a wide range of issues related to planning, recreation, and conservation and is relevant to local and regional authority, and user groups (both on land and on water). Featured at this conference will be presentations that showcase not only the bouquets of success, but also the pitfalls of failure. Key note speakers, including international guests, will offer their views on best practice and you will have the opportunity to hear from your peers and offer your pearls of wisdom in the interactive workshops. Also available is a field trip to view the theory in action. Finally social activities are arranged where informal networking can take place. |
