NZRA offers a range of education and training opportunities. This section contains a selection of previous conference and seminar papers. Details of future conferences and seminars in New Zealand and overseas can also be found here.

NZRA National Conference
The national conference is the premier event on the NZRA calendar.  Participants are traditionally senior managers, elected officials, academics and policy makers from the recreation sector. The national conference culminates in the announcement of the NZRA Awards.

Thinking Recreation!
A Seminar for Recreation Planners & Policy Makers, Gisborne, 28 - 30 July 2010 
Thinking Recreation is designed for anyone working in recreation/leisure/parks/reserves planning and policy. The programme includes presentations from industry leaders with opportuities for extensive discussion and workshoping of ideas.



Just Add Water Seminar
New Zealand's Annual Aquatic Conference, Tauranga, 18 - 20 August 2010 


Green Pavlova
The Green Pavlova is a 2-day seminar for those working in the parks industry. The 2010 Green Pav Seminar was held in Taupo, 24 - 25 May 2010.

Parks Workshops
These ran throughout 2009 in 6 regions. The Sustainable Parks workshops feature the development of a 21st century all terrain park, sustainable mountain bike track design and a focus on play and play facilities. For further information go to the Parks section of the website.

LEAP - Leisure, Energy, Activity, Programmes
LEAP is a 2-day seminar designed for those working in the recreation programming field. Rebranded in 2004, the programme includes presentations and discussion on industry trends and best practice, and offers ideas for enhancing your service delivery. There is also ample opportunity to swap ideas with your colleagues, through formal and informal networking
