How satisfied are your pools and indoor recreation facility users – how do you know? The NZRA established customer survey project will run again in Jan/Feb 2010 and will include facilities in Palmerston North City, Waitaki DC, Hutt City, Rotorua DC, City of Gosnells (WA), City of Stirling Kwinana (WA) and others. These organisations will ask customers about a range of issues and assets with the approach being “how important are............... and how satisfied are you with...........” this produces a positive / negative gap that is benchmarked across the membership and feeds into a matrix to provide an overall level of satisfaction by organisation and individual facility. If you need to measure and report on levels of service and need a cost effective approach with a level of independence then this is the tool for you. Collecting information about facilities is crucial to enable effective management. Yardstick Pools and Leisure Centres is a business improvement initiative developed by the pools and leisure centre industry, for the industry. It collects and compares information on the provision of services, cost of provision, revenue, usage, staff resources, programs and marketing, asset management, planning and policy information.
It is a reflection of the growing maturity and complexity of the aquatic and leisure centre industry that managers and Councils utilise a wide variety of management information for the effective running of facilities. Using a question workbook, information is gathered from each facility and collated into an annual Yardstick Pools and Leisure Centres Report. All information is openly reported allowing direct comparison with pools of a similar type and size.
